>> India Unveils ROTAVIRUS Vaccine for Diarrhoea:

·     India today unveiled its indigenously developed and manufactured Rotavirus vaccine at the  world's cheapest rate of around Rs 60 per dose and aimed at boosting efforts to deal with diarrhoea that kills upto 80,000 children under 5 every year.

·     'Rotavac', launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is the third such vaccine available globally against Rotavirus.

·     The Bharat Biotech India Limited, which was involved in the development and production of the vaccine

>> The ministry of Human Resource Development,Dept of School Education and Literacy,presented the DIGITAL GENDER ATLAS FOR ADVACING GIRLS EDUCATION with geographical representation of data to help states in policy-making and implementation.

·    The tool, developed with support from UNICEF, was officially unveiled  by the Minister for Human Resource Development, Smriti Irani.

·     The gender atlas, which is a geographical representation and time series data on various levels of education in the country, is freely available on the Ministry’s Web site.

·     Using available Government data such as Unified District Information System for Education (2011-14), Census 2011 and District Level Health Survey 2007-08, the atlas can provide comparative analysis of individual gender related indicators over three years which enables a visual assessment of change and whether some policy has worked or not.

·         The period 2014 to 2018 is being commemorated as Centenary of First World War.

>> Kerala Tourism’s campaign wins silver prize in Golden Gate Award at ITB-Berlin.

·     Kerala Tourism received the prize in the category of mulimedia-campaign for its global multimedia ‘The Great Backwaters campaign’ in the television-commercial medium.

·     Golden Gate Award is entitled as Oscar in tourism communication. It is awarded for the ultimate recognition in global tourism communication and presented every year at the ITB-Berlin.

>>Shaheen-III ballistic missile test-fired by Pakistan successfully:

·         Pakistan successfully conducted the first test of surface-to-surface Shaheen-III ballistic missile off the Arabian Sea.

·         The missile, also called White Falcon-III. About Shaheen-III Solid-fuelled multi stage ballistic missile. Capable of carrying both nuclear as well as conventional warheads.

·          Range: 2,750 km. Shaheen-III is going to replace Pakistan’s less advanced liquid-fueled mid-range nuclear capable Ghauri-III ballistic missile.

>> PM Modi will be visiting Seychelles,Mauritius & Sri Lanka from 10^th to 14^th March.

·                      On 11^th March in Seychelles,Modi will meet President James Michel about Maritime ties and other bilateral discussions.

·         On 11^th-12 th March in Maritius ,the PM Modi will meeting with PM Sir Anerood Jugnauth to futher enhancing bilateral relations and will be the Chief Guest at the National Day celebrations

·         On 13^th-14^th March in SriLanka ,Modi will have a meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena .

           .Modi is the first PM to visit the Sri Lanka in last 24 years.He will inaugurate a Railway line in Talaimannar and Cultural center in Jaffna.
