>>Former military ruler Genral Muhammadu Buhari won the Presidential election in Nigeria.
·         He defeated incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan by more than two million votes.
·         With this Buhari became the first opposition candidate in history of Nigeria to win a presidential election.
·         In this election Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) party has received around 15,424,921 votes and Jonathan’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has recieved 12,853,162 votes.

>> Palestine has formally attained memebershp of the International Criminal Court, a move the could open the door to possible war crime indictments against Israeli officials despite uncertainty over its wider ramifications.

>> US-based intelligence think tank- Intel Center released the Top 10 Most Dangerous Countries list.
Pakistan is the eighth in the list of the most dangerous countries in the world as of March 2015.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are the only two South Asian countries in the list. The rankings were prepared based upon CTI after examining the volume of terrorist and rebel alerts, messaging traffic, videos, photos, incidents and the number of killed and injured in a country over the past 30 days.
Intel Center is a Washington-based company established in 1989. It works globally for intelligence agencies a by providing them counterterrorism intelligence services. 


>>Punjab Government has launched ‘Padho Punjab- Khedo Punjab Mission’ i.e. Learn Punjab- Play Punjab Mission.
  •              The purpose of the mission is to encourage more youngsters towards sports to produce quality players for the country.

  •              Under this mission a 40 to 50 minute special period has been kept for sports. During this period students of middle schools will be taught various games including the games played locally.
  •               Mission’s pilot project was launched by State Education Minister Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema.


>>Gulshan Rai took charge as India’s first cyber security chief under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as Special Secretary for cyber security.

·         Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2015 had created this new post in PMO and had appointed Rai as its head.
·         Prior to this appointment, he was Director-General Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) at the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).

>>PM Narendra Modi dedicate the 12,000 Cr rupees for modernization and expansion project at Rourkela Steel Plant to the nation.

>>The commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman today announced New Foreign Trade Policy(FTP) 2015-2020 with an objective to boost exports and create jobs.
·         This is first trade policy of the NDA govt with and aim to double India’s exports of goods and services to $900 billion by 2020.
·         This FTP will introduce Merchandise Exports from India Scheme(MEIS) and Services Exports from India Scheme(SEIS) to boost outward shipments.

>> Odisha Government launched ‘Aahar’- cheap meal scheme for providing subsidised food to urban poor.

  •          It was launched by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on the occasion  the foundation day of the state i.e. Utkala Dibasa.


  •          It aims at providing meal at Rs. five to the urban poor



>>The government on Wednesday raised import tariff value on gold to $385 per 10 grams and silver to $543 per kg, taking cues from firm global price trends.
·         During the last fortnight of March, the tariff value on imported gold was $375 per 10 grams and on silver at $512 per kg.
·         The import tariff value is the base price at which customs duty is determined to prevent under-invoicing. It is revised on a fortnightly basis taking into account global prices.
